Since the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the normal lifestyle of people across the globe, virtual world has come to the rescue. Amongst many institutions and schools in Gujarat we at Gajera Trust were the first to shift the base to virtual platforms to conduct classes online. Learning and teaching materials have shifted from the blackboard to more sophisticated gadgets that supports teaching and learning at any level of learning, starting from preschool to the higher learning. We believe that E-learning promotes active and independent learning. It not only can educate the child on a day to day basis, but also makes the child learn independently. Educators interacted with all learners through online and also cleared every doubt if any raised by the learners. Not only Academics but also the competitions, events, celebrations and co-curricular activities, club activities were taken care of through online. Under the guidance of the Management all the educators took initiative and conducted the practical assessments and online examinations too.

Strengths of E-Learning

Flipped Classrooms - Teaching has started with flip classrooms also for students. Educators post the videos on topic before they teach the students online. Students go through the videos and come prepared in the online classes where they themselves become active and learn.

Liberty to Experiment - E-Learning allows educators to develop and create their materials according to their schedules and whenever they want to. It gives them freedom to experiment in their teaching practice and the ability to make changes if something doesn’t work. It also gives an opportunity to prepare their own teaching and videos and audios which will help the learners to go through as many times they want to.

E-Learning Tools - A wide range of learning tools and resources are being researched and implemented. The real world education of theory has been able to be taught through multimedia, Google classrooms, zoom, Google meets, Parent-Child application (Gems App), video, chat.

Virtual Field Trips - Online technologies have removed the barriers of time, cost and location from the learning activities and experiences available to students. Virtual field trips are being conducted to engage with and to explore places. Students are virtually being guided through Museums, Chocolate Factories, Dubai Malls, Aquarium, Zoo, Historical Places, Amul Factory, under water Zoo, Disney Land etc. The opportunities for virtual field trips are limited only by the creativity of the leader (the faculty) and the engagement of the traveler (the learner).

Anywhere - The main advantage of E-learning is that it allows students to participate in high quality learning situations when distance and schedule make on-ground learning difficult-to-impossible. Students attend and participate online classes from any part of the world, provided they have a computer, Laptop, mobile phones.

Anytime, Any Pace - Asynchronous communication through online conferencing programs allows the professional juggling work, family, and study schedules to participate in class discussions. There is no question about doing the work; just do it at the times that are more convenient. Students can access their courses at any time of day or night. Further, they have continuous access to lectures, course materials, and class discussions.

Benefits of E-Learning - Educators have the right/time to lead students’ success both during and after school hours too. E-Learning allows educators to stay connected to their students outside of school hours in order to exchange ideas, resources, videos, methodologies, and pedagogical practices. It is helpful for educators to support their students outside the classroom where they don`t spend much time together.

“By Learning you will teach, by teaching you will learn.”

Maker's Day Virtual Event (Theme - Tomorrowland)

Tomorrowland: A View from the Future

Smt. Shantaben Haribhai Gajera Trust, based in Surat, in collaboration with Sunita’s Makerspace, organized an open-for-the community online competition to celebrate Maker's Day, an event that is held every year to encourage learners to give expression to their creative ideas.

An open-for-the community online competition on the theme “Tomorrowland” to celebrate Maker's Day in which participants presented their imagined world of the future in the form of posters, poems, videos and PowerPoint presentations. The event is held every year to celebrate the spirit of innovation among all the schools run by the Trust. This year, it was held online because of the pandemic and was open to the general public also.

The world as we know of today, is so drastically different that a person who lived in the 1920s would feel like she has stepped into the sets of a sci-fi movie with people glued to their screens ordering food via gadgets, sending money through space and people getting ready for inter-galactic travel.

Someone must have imagined sending money thorough space; of finding information before one could say ‘information’; of not going to the bank to withdraw cash; of travelling to the mars or for that matter, the moon. The seed of all the gadgets was definitely laid in someone’s fertile mind. And this seed ultimately took fruition as the hi-tech equipment we use today.

Posters, poems, and PowerPoint presentation took flight when participants projected their imagined world of the future on them. About 12000 future planners, architects, and dreamers put their heads together in the mega event held virtually. Sunita’s Makerspace bustled with participants uploading their creatives onto the Makerspace website. The pandemic made the event virtual, but the minds of thinkers were fully alive.

Participants started uploading their works on 12th October and ended on 20th October 2020, after which judges, mentors and other makers started evaluating them through likes and online votes. To keep the competition as competitive as possible, likes received from the general public were given equal weightage as judges’ votes. It was a full-fledged reality show where much was at stake—the worth of the ideas was open for judgement in the community, in the real world. The voting continued until 29th October 2020 after which the promising ideas were awarded while the others received the certificates of participation.

The winners were appreciated by inviting them to collect their Certificates and the gifts which they deserved after sharing their creative and innovative projects and ideas. On 6th November 2020 the prize distribution competition was held to congratulate all the makers.

Sunita’s Makerspace hopes that events like this will give our learners the necessary launch pad for ideas that look crazy today, but a reality tomorrow.

Best Community Service In India

Best Community Service In India - Gajera Trust

In this era, where more and more people run after the glittery world of corporates, we witness a conflicting world with a vision to work for the wellness of the society. Doing something for the betterment of the society can be done through different ways, but the purpose always remains the same i.e impacting lives of people directly or indirectly.

Ideally, the government is to be held responsible for the legal and constitutional matters. Now whether the Indian government can be held responsible for looking into other aspects is a question. Who, then, should take care of the concerns that arise out of empathy and social responsibilities? Compassion performs actions which, usually, are beyond constitutional matters but the good thing is that the constitution does pay due respect to them and aids them within its own vista.

Our country is choked with a number of NGOs and identifying the credible ones is really a tough task. Amongst all, Gajera Trust is one of the best community service provider in India.

To support the society with positive transformational initiatives, a foundation named after Smt. Shantaben Haribhai Gajera Charitable Trust was lead on 15 January 1993 in loving memory of a mother to five brothers of Gajera family.

Gajera Trust is a Non-Government organization or let’s say a non-profit organization that is aimed towards creating a better world for all humans with no distinction made between caste, creed, religion, gender or societal status.

Gajera Trust have been instrumental in bringing about many reforms in India which have still kept humanity alive. As a service, Gajera Trust offers 3 vital care listed below:

The Trust focuses on alleviating poverty and social injustice. They do this through well planned and comprehensive projects in health, education, livelihoods and disaster preparedness and response. Their overall goal is the empowerment of young lives from poor and marginalized communities leading to improvement in their lives and livelihoods.

Apart from educating the young lives of the society, Gajera Trust focuses on organizing free health camps around the rural areas by offering free medical checkups, providing medicines & many more.

The main aim towards the establishment India No. 1 Community Service Provider is to serve people in remote, rural communities who have limited or no access to health service providers.

The NGO has continued to introduce innovative strategies and technologies throughout its development including the latest mobile health technology and electronic medical records as well as financial and marketing innovations in an attempt to reach the one million plus young lives i.e. students & educate them anyway.

They use various methods to reach their goal like disease control, resolve conflicts, trying to make changes in the existing norms & solve poverty and treat high-risk individuals. The organization have taken impressive steps to help the community aided issues & sort them out effectively.

Gajera Trust have undertaken various campaigns & looking forward for many more. Thus, beyond any questions, Gajera Trust offers one of the best Community Service in India.

Health Check-Up Camp Lead By Gajera Trust & Laxmi Diamond Pvt. Ltd

1 October 2020

In continuation of human endeavor, Gajera Trust in collaboration with Laxmi Diamond Pvt. Ltd organized a medical camp at Sutharpada village in Valsad district of Gujarat state. The camp was held on 19th August 2018, Sunday.

The medical camp was set up with a sole objective to bring awareness amongst the deprived population of the Sutharpada village who do not have any access to basic healthcare services or knowledge about the diseases they might be suffering from.

Moreover, during the camp it was made sure that people at Sutharpada village get required healthcare at the right time with the doctors’ consult before a small health issue turns serious.

The health camp was lead by some of the best health professionals including medical specialists, consultants, nurses and volunteers.  Overall physical examinations including eye and health check-up, proper functioning of vital organs like the heart, lungs, digestive system, liver, kidneys and the immune system were done efficiently by the team. The camp was proved to be very helpful for the poor population who earn a meager income and cannot afford extravagant medical services provided by clinics and hospitals.

To serve the camp as a life-saving program which aimed to provide free medical and surgical services to destitute communities living in agrarian or urban areas by our team of healthcare professionals as a medical mobile team with specialized medical service.

To drive the medical camp with the strong ethics of medicine as our moral responsibility and obligation to treat each patient disregarding their incomes, race or social status.

The most vital objective of the health camp was to provide initial care to people in life-threatening conditions which reflected the unique strengths and goals of medical ethics.

Apart from the above ethical objectives, few other objectives that lead the campaign in a successful manner are listed below:

Providing free and high-quality medical services to the needy population.
Working as an emergency mobile team in disasters.
Raising health awareness among the community and teaching them to deal with communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Undertaking subtle and severe cases and referring them to specialized health centers.
Appraising their living conditions and determining the difficulties and challenges to work on solving their problems.
Referring medical cases towards surgeries if required.

Apparently, we surely need to improve our healthcare system being defeated, where cost is reaching its own sky as the needy are unable to afford the health care they truly deserve.

Proper medical care is a right of every human which should be made available to everyone including people living in rural or urban areas.

Not only literates, let every human on the earth have the right to get informed about the truth of various diseases and its treatments in order to keep them aware of their own health.

Let us all doctors together take a pledge to serve each patient with equal care and evenly support to all, irrespective of their background and income.

We, at Gajera Trust, will keep on serving humanity by taking care of the sick and the needy by providing education and support in all the way we can.
